Advanced Certificate in Islamic Studies (Part-Time) 

Objective

  • To enhance students who understand Islam and act upon its guiding principles.

  • To foster and develop a basic understand of the Arabic Language and its extension.

  • To expose and explain the Islamic Jurisprudence and Tasawwur Islam on various aspects of life (economic, social, politics, education and civilization).

 

Introduction
This programme is a continuation from Certificate in Islamic Studies (SPI). It is designed as a bridging course for those who are keen to enrol to the Diploma level. Students will be exposed to modules such as Arabic Language, Ulumul Qur’an and Ulumul Hadith.

Upon completion of this programme, students are eligible to pursue their studies in Diploma programme offered by Muhammadiyah Islamic College.

Entry Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old and above.

  • Pass in Certificate in Islamic Studies OR any equivalent certificate such as follows :

  • Completed the Youth aLIVE programme at Mosque

  • Completed and passed Secondary 4 level for Part-time Madrasah or Mosque madrasah students

  • Other qualification that is recognized by the Academic Committee of the College as equivalent to the above.

 

Certification

In order to obtain an Advanced Certificate in Islamic Studies, a student must comply with all requirements set by Muhammadiyah Islamic College. The student must complete 16 credits.

Repeat of subject/ semester

Students are required to repeat the module (re-module) if:

  • their attendance is below 75%

  • doesn’t meet the stated requirements in handbook.

  • failed the retake examination
