Certificate in Islamic Studies (PT) 

Objective

  • To equip students with the knowlegde of Islamic Studies, and to show the relevance of Islamic concepts and principles in the daily lives of contemporary Muslims
  • To equip students with the fundamentals of Islamic Studies
  • To enhance students` proficiency in Al-Quran recitation

Introduction
This programme is a continuation from Certificate in Islamic Studies (SPI).This programme caters for those who are interested to acquire basic knowledge of Islamic Studies as a disipline of study. In this programme, participants will learn some basic concepts and principles that form the foundation of sub-disciplines such as ‘Aqidah, Fiqh, Hadith, Sirah and Tajweed.

Upon completion of this programme, students are able to pursue their studies in Advanced Certificate in Islamic Studies (SLPI) programme offered by Muhammadiyah Islamic College.

Entry Requirements

  • Open to students from the age of 16 onwards
  • Able to recite the Quran moderately. An entrance test will be conducted when needed.

 
Certification

In order to obtain a Certificate in Islamic Studies, a student must comply all requirements set by Muhammadiyah Islamic College. The student must complete 16 credits.

Repeat of subject/ semester

Students are required to repeat the module (re-module) if:

  • their attendance is below 75%

  • doesn’t meet the stated requirements in handbook.

  • failed the retake examination

Sunday: 9am to 1.30pm (English Medium)
Sunday: 2pm to 6.30pm (Malay Medium)
