DIPLOMA IN ISLAMIC STUDIES (SYARIAH) (PART-TIME)

INTRODUCTION

The Syariah is the Islamic legal framework evolved within Islam providing living guide for the individual and the Muslim community. This course provides a comprehensive treatment of all the major elements of the Syariah relevant to the Diploma level. Students will be aware of the importance of the Syariah and its role in sustaining a Muslim society in particular and in relation to other communities in general. Students with knowledge and awareness of the Syariah will bring positive impact to society in the future.

PROGRAM OUTCOME

At the end of this program, students should have the ability:

  1. To understand the framework of the Syariah, its currency and relevance in society.
  2. To appreciate the role of the Syariah in sustaining God-conscious living within variety of social conditions.
  3. To acquire life skills relevant for self-growth and personal development.
  4. To be missioned in life as a Khalifa Fil Ard.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

  1. GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent
  2. Tsanawi 4 or its equivalent
  3. Minimum of Diploma in any disciplines
  4. Certificate in Islamic Studies or Arabic Language from MIC
  5. Any other qualification that is recognized by the Academic Committee of the College as equivalent to the above.

 

JOB PROSPECT

Graduates of the Diploma in Islamic Studies (Syariah) will find their qualification relevant for a career as religious teachers for part-time Madrasah in mosques or other institutions. There are also opportunities to serve the community as administrators in mosques or other religious institutions. Those who prefers independence can also be freelance religious teachers or serves as consultants at the appropriate and relevant level to their qualification. While the Diploma in Islamic Studies focuses mainly on religious knowledge, graduates with the Diploma may embark on any other vocation or career deem relevant and suitable to the knowledge, experience and skills that they have acquired.
